Introducing Haddie

Greetings!! Let’s all just pretend that I haven’t been totally MIA on here and pick up where we left off, shall we?

Our beautiful baby girl arrived on January 22nd after I was induced at 41 weeks and 3 days! At birth, she weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and was 22 inches long.  She spent the first week of her life in the NICU and then settled in to life at home.

She is now 12 weeks old!  She's the happiest, smiliest newborn that I have ever met. She eats like a champ, holds her head up, is a pretty decent sleeper most of the time, and is just a joy to be around. Her personality comes out more and more each day.  Her favorite things are cuddling, riding in her swing, and gazing at our fan in the living room.  The one thing that she hates is bathtime, so I've started showering with her instead. She’s in the 90th percentile for height and as a result, she’s been wearing size 6 month clothes since she was 7 weeks old and is about to start wearing 9 month clothes!

I honestly didn't expect to love being a mother as much as I do, but the love that I have for her is unreal. There's nothing better than snuggling with her or the moments when she stares into my eyes and then drifts off to sleep while she's nursing. I could watch her sleep for hours and I love seeing her hold onto things with her tiny little hands.  I love unswaddling her each morning and seeing her break into a huge smile and sttttrrrreeettccchhh her little arms.  I could go on and on, but I am just obsessed with her.

I do apologize for being away for so long.  For starters, it’s been hard to find time to blog, but the bigger reason is that I thought that I wanted to recap my pregnancy and her birth story. Every time that I sat down to write about it, it didn’t feel right and it occurred to me that it’s because I don’t want to share it yet.  The past year was quite the experience and it was a special time for Bill and I as a couple and for now, I just want to keep it to ourselves.  All that being said, I’m back and I plan to be blogging a lot more often!
